TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Spider-Man: Brand New Day brings Tom Holland’s Peter Parker back to the streets of New York City, where the hero faces a lineup of familiar villains. The movie takes place roughly four years after Spider-Man: No Way Home and portrays Peter as an exhausted and lonely hero nearing burnout.

The film also introduces several lower-level villains from Spider-Man’s comic-book history. While some appear only briefly, their cameos emphasize how established Spider-Man has become in the MCU’s version of New York City.

The following are six villain cameos in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to Movieweb.

6 ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Villain Cameos

1. Scorpion

Michael Mando’s Scorpion has the most substantial presence among the movie’s villains. In the comics, Mac Gargan gains enhanced speed and strength through unsafe experimentation, along with scorpion-themed armor. He has also served as a host for the Venom symbiote and has been a member of later incarnations of the Sinister Six. Since Scorpion survived Brand New Day, his comic book abilities and history could pave the way for a larger role in future MCU stories.

2. Tombstone

Tombstone gets more time to shine in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, with Marvin Jones III portraying the massive crime boss. In the comics, Tombstone is naturally large, fast and strong, much like Kingpin. He later gains superhuman abilities after an experimental gas alters his DNA, giving him an extremely durable body capable of withstanding high-caliber bullets. The version in Brand New Day appears to remain human, but a future power-up could bring him closer to his comic-book counterpart.

3. Boomerang

Boomerang, a former aspiring baseball player turned assassin, makes another quick cameo. He is known for his exceptional throwing accuracy and an arsenal of specialized boomerangs. Like Ramrod and Tarantula, his appearance comes during the movie’s villain montage.

4. Tarantula

Tarantula also receives only a brief appearance. The character, originally an enforcer from the fictional South American country of Delvadia, is a skilled fighter equipped with retractable blades on his arms and feet. His appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day is likely to be his only MCU outing.

5. Ramrod

Ramrod appears briefly during a montage of Spider-Man battling lower-level villains. The cyborg, known for his steel skeleton and superhuman strength, attempts to smash Spider-Man through a brick wall. However, Spider-Man easily avoids the attack, making the cameo likely a one-off appearance.

6. The Hand

The Hand, the infamous ninja organization previously associated with Daredevil, returns to the MCU as an asset of the Department of Damage Control. Under corrupt DODC director Bill Metzger, the group serves as his personal security force and mercenaries. They eventually face Spider-Man in a major battle inside a DODC prison wing.
